Before we announce our newest design team, we're saying good-bye to our first design team members.
These ladies are super-talented! Thank you for all of your creative work for the Island!
Robin Suzanne Mack-Boeder
Choosing eight new design team members was not an easy process, especially when there were so many great entries to choose from! So, please, if you did make the design team this time around, we encourage you to reapply for our next Design Team call.
I believe we've chosen a nice variety of designing styles to inspire you.
CONGRATULATIONS to Scrapbook Island's newest Design Team members!
Design Team Coordinator: Christine Delgadillo
As you can see, we couldn't narrow it down to just eight, so we decided to have nine members for this term!"
We are so excited about the 3 new classes Debby Schuh will be teaching Nov. 4th & 5th! Check out these gorgeous photos and call today to sign up. We still have a few spaces left and we don't want you to miss out! Also, don't forget that if you sign up for all 3 classes you'll receive $10 off the total price and if you attend the Friday night class, you can stay to crop until midnight.
Also, if you are thinking about the Christmas album and can't do Friday night, if we have enough demand we can have Debby repeat the class on Sunday, Nov. 6th, so call the store to add your name to a request list!
Fri. Nov. 4th, "Christmas 2011 Album" Class, 6:30-9:30 pm, $60.00
For our annual holiday album this year we'll be creating our own 6x9" album with a nostalgic mix of papers from some of my favorite companies: Graphic 45, Jenni Bowlin, October Afternoon, Anna Griffin, Crate Paper, and Cosmo Cricket. I love the mix of prints and patterns! We will use a variety of different size page protectors and pages and lots of embellishments to make a series of pages with folds and pockets and "mini-minis" within our book for all your photos and memories of the season. There are enough pages in the album to use it as a daily album for the month of December plus room to save the special cards you receive and other mementos of the season.
Student Supply List: 12" paper trimmer, pencil, scissors, dry tape adhesive, glue stick, 7gypsies Binderie, Crop a Dile, sanding tool, Distress ink pad (Vintage Photo), ink-blending tool, non-stick craft mat, Tiny Attacher stapler.
Sat. Nov. 5: "Bessie Mates" Mini Album Class, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, $65.00
Where would we be without our girlfriends, our moms or daughters, or our sisters? To celebrate these special relationships we'll start with a new mixed media album from Basically Bare, take it apart, and refashion it into a beautiful keepsake album full of colorful papers and embellishments from Crate Paper, American Crafts, Hambly Studio, and more. With a fun mix of chipboard, acrylic, canvas, and envelope pages, we'll cut and fold and stamp and add some sparkle. The results will be a stunning creation that you'll treasure forever.
Student Supply List: 12" paper trimmer, scissors, ruler, pencil, dry tape adhesive, glue stick, Tiny Attacher stapler, sanding tool, scoring tool, Distress Ink (Vintage Photo), ink-blending tool, non-stick craft mat, scallop edge scissors, foam squares, glue dots.
Sat. Nov. 5: "Grace Notes" Mini Album Class, 2:30 - 5:30 pm, $60.00
Inspired by the book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, this 8x8" hardbound book that we will create from scratch is not just a scrapbook but is also a journal that can literally change your life. We'll be stamping and misting, and cutting and folding, and creating a multi-dimensional series of pages that will be ready for your "grace notes"... a record of the little blessings that you observe throughout your days: the moments that can slip away forever if you don't take time to acknowledge them. Your book can be a "life-album" in miniature... a reflection of a life lived with gratitude. Using products from October Afternoon, 7gypsies, American Crafts, Unibind, and more, we'll assemble this beautiful book that is sure to become one of your dearest treasures. You'll also discover new techniques for creating your own hardcover books at home.
Student Supply List: 12" paper trimmer, scissors, ruler, pencil, dry tape adhesive, glue stick, strong tape adhesive (red line tape or scor-pal tape), Distress Ink (Vintage Photo), ink-blending tool, non-stick craft mat, sanding block, scoring tool, sewing needle, ivory quilting thread.
